Questions to ask Yourself in your Health Efforts and Routines

Most of us at some point, have tried to FORCE healthier habits, practices and routines into our days and lifestyle. I encounter this with clients, friends and family (anyone trying to create positive change in their health) on a regular basis.


In saying that, without being an ass and being genuinely REAL and CURIOUS, ask yourself;


"How's that working for me?"


Rigidity, rules, strict routines, 0 to 100 mentality in eating, exercise and any health practice for MOST people, is NOT sustainable long term. Why?? Because all that strictness, "shoulding yourself", "supposed to's" and FORCE is NOT enjoyable and NOT do-able for many people for any great length of time (understandably). When we loathe, dred or dislike doing something, guess what happens? We tend to (inevitably) AVOID IT.


What if... 🤔


What if in your health practices you laughed more?

What if you smiled more each day?

What if you sometimes did more and other times did less?

What if you sweat sometimes and other times you just moved gently?

What if at the end of your training session or activity you felt invigorated and energized (rather than wiped out or sore)?

What if we experimented and allowed ourselves to play with different exercises, movements and activities (within our means)?

What if you allowed yourself to just do something rather than analyzing, comparing and/or collecting data?

What if you did an activity without your tracker, heart rate monitor or app involved in any way?

What would happen to your health practices and lifestyle, if some of these things began to filter into your approach to your deep health?? How do you think it would help you? How do you think it would harm you?


Check in with yourself. Seriously! If you've been trying FORCE as your go to for months, years or longer - Perhaps LETTING GO in ways and ALLOWING more positive vibes into your health practices may be just what is needed to create the shifts you're looking for.
