Freedom of Choice in Health

I came across a very powerful and truthful quote the other day....


"You are free to choose, but you are not free from the consequence of your choice."

The beautiful thing about life is that, most of us, have a choice. The unfortunate thing is that somewhere along the line, we've lost the understanding that whatever we do choose will have outcomes; positive or negative.


Regardless of which way the outcome sways, don't be surprised - YOU made the choice...


*If you CHOOSE to schedule every free moment with something ~ don't be surprised that your energy is low


*If you CHOOSE to binge a few more episodes of your favourite show late at night ~ don't be surprised that you're tired and lethargic the next day


*If you CHOOSE to lie on the couch all evening after dinner ~ don't be surprised that you're body is stiff and uncomfortable the next day when you ask it to move


*If you CHOOSE to not walk on a regularly ~ don't be surprised when you're out of breath after 10min of walking with friends


*If you CHOOSE to ignore recommendations and advice given to help you manage / heal an injury ~ don't be surprised when it doesn't improve


*If you CHOOSE to have a second plate full of dinner ~ don't be surprised when you feel bloated and uncomfortable afterwards

ACCEPT and be HAPPY with YOUR CHOICE


Irregardless of WHAT CHOICE YOU DO MAKE - Be happy with that decision. Ultimately, YOU made it. We live in a world where it's always "someone else's fault" or "I had no choice". YES YOU DO!!! At least in most places around the world, we have the FREEDOM to choose for ourselves each and every day.


**If you decide to skip the veggies at dinner and opt for the ice cream for dessert ...


~ DON'T get down on yourself

~ DON'T have an excuse

~ DON'T blame someone or something else


Be happy with that choice that YOU made.


**If you decide to NOT go for a walk today and you instead watch a couple episodes of your favourite show ...


~ DON'T get down on yourself

~ DON'T have an excuse

~ DON'T have any other reason why...


... other than that YOU CHOSE to watch your show because YOU WANTED to.


It sounds silly to break it down this way doesn't it? But if you're still reading this post, I think you agree with this statement. We CHOOSE each and everyday, SO MANY different CHOICES for ourselves, and yet we act surprised when the outcome isn't what we want? It makes no sense eh?


If you WANT to feel more energy ~ CHOOSE things that GIVE you energy.


If you WANT to be better at something (a sport, an art form, a task or hobby) ~ CHOOSE to practice that thing.


If you WANT to hurt less and feel better overall more often ~ CHOOSE to do things that help your body feel better.



YOU make YOUR own CHOICES.


TAKE responsibility for those CHOICES YOU make.
