YOU have a choice in most facets of your daily lifestyle, even when it doesn't seem like it. However, ALL choices have outcomes. That's a fact of life. A fact of nature.
CHOOSE to move your body regularly ~ CHOOSE to be sedentary regularly
CHOOSE to work beyond work hours regularly ~ CHOOSE to work during work hours only
CHOOSE to have some days with NOTHING scheduled each week ~ CHOOSE to book every available moment during your week
CHOOSE to binge another show before bed ~ CHOOSE to go to bed at a decent hour and watch the show tomorrow
CHOOSE to be with your own thoughts and experience solitude at times in your days ~ CHOOSE to fill every moment of solitude with social media, news, videos etc
CHOOSE to help your body heal ~ CHOOSE to experience discomfort/pain regularly without effort or action
CHOOSE to eat foods you enjoy ~ CHOOSE to force foods you don't enjoy on yourself
CHOICES are ABUNDANT. We could go on forever.
Think about your choices. Yes, some are much harder than others to see but you ALWAYS have a choice in how you approach your days/weeks/months and years on this planet AND in this ONE life you have.
CHOOSE for YOURSELF. And always remember that it was YOUR choice.

This Zen Quickie is discussing our everyday lifestyles and life choices. Naturally there are exceptions to every rule (in this case, things like chronic diseases or illnesses are a good example of what we CAN'T choose). But one could argue that even if we have to live with a chronic diseases or illness, we still have choices (such as how we approach it mentally and emotionally, how we use our support networks and how choose to fight or not fight the disease).
I hope that the message comes across however, that we HAVE WAY MORE choice than we believe or realize. And that OUR choice is our choice (for better or worse). Don't like it - CHOOSE to change it. Like it - CHOOSE to keep it rolling. 🙂
