"A Day in the Life"
Another dollar,
Another day
My money's spent
But the rent is paid.
The work is tough
And the pay is low
But that is just
The way it goes.
We sacrifice
Nearly half our lives
To make ends meet
and stay alive.
So, take it slow
And enjoy the ride
'Cause you never know
The day you'll die.

Did you feel a bit "awkward" at the end of that? Does it feel a bit morbid even? There lies the problem of our modern lifestyle. We IGNORE our reality. We PUSH ASIDE our TIME in this life. For what??
....To be running around doing so much we don't know which way is up!?
....To be moving through our days on "autopilot" to the point where we aren't aware of what's really going on around us??
...To be SO BUSY in doing "STUFF" that we DON'T even understand what our HEART and SOUL want and/or need??
And then... We die.

Read any longevity book, or listen to any longevity professional, OR speak with folks in their 80s, 90s or even centenarians, and you will hear the same REALITY repeated over and over:
NO ONE ever said near the end of life - "I wish I'd worked more"
NO ONE ever said in their later years- "I'm glad I kept myself busy instead of spending time with friends and loved ones"
NO ONE ever said near the end of their time on this planet - "I wish I'd crammed more into my day to keep me busy"
NO ONE ever said as time is closing the door - "I wish I didn't spend so much time doing things that were meaninful and enjoyable to ME"
Neil Degrasse Tyson (astrophysicist) reminds us:
"Your individual existence is a near-miraculous event, occurring against "stupendous odds," because the number of possible genetic combinations for a human is vastly greater than the billions of people who have ever lived, making your specific "you" statistically improbable and a precious, unique occurrence in the universe."

... AND YET, look how we are CHOOSING to live our lives each and every day. TOO MANY of us are letting our ONE LIFE pass us by. We're numbing ourselves to the simple and beautiful things in life, and CHOOSING a life so busy that by the time we realize how much we've missed... It will be gone.
SLOW DOWN.
BREATHE.
SMILE.
LAUGH.
LIVE.
