"I slacked this week"

My client said these words to me when she came for her session last week:
"I slacked this past week"
She shared with me that work had been hectic and she just had a hard time "getting things in this week". BUT, when I checked her calendar in my app the information I found wasn't matching her words at all. SHE HIT EVERY TARGET SHE SET FOR HERSELF heading into that week. She had 100% done enough! Better yet, she had done 100% of what SHE said she WANTED to do for herself.

There's two things I wanted to point out with this client story...
1) Don't believe all the stories in your mind. Just because it's up there, in your mind, doesn't mean it's REAL. Our minds are very good story tellers. Hell, I have a really cool dragon flying around this kick ass castle in my mind. Is it real?? To be determined... 😉
Often our modern lifestyles of constantly on the go AND high chronic stress makes these stories SEEM much more real for us. Reality gets lost in the fog that chronic stress creates. That doesn't mean it's reality.
2) Tracking is useful data about YOURSELF. I don't believe we need to log/track our health practices the rest of our life. Yuck, that wouldn't be fun. But from time to time, especially when we're trying to "figure things out for ourselves and what works", tracking is an AWESOMELY POWERFUL tool. Think about it? If we weren't tracking my this clients weekly habits/practices, she would have come in feeling like she "didn't do anything she set out to do", even though she did. How scary of a thought is that? Do that multiple weeks after another and you have a rabbit hole of self-bullying, frustration and non-healthy mindsets settling in.
The information we had was a REAL LIFE glimpse into this client's week. And with that, she was able to feel much better about herself. It went from "I slacked this week" to the ah-ha moment of "Whoa! I did EVERYTHING I said I wanted to, WHILE having a crazy stressful week with work!". This creates a constructive mindset, a clearer picture of reality and cultivates SUCCESS and a feeling of accomplishment within my clients lifestyle.
Change YOUR mindset.
LEARN the most simple practices.
DO them OFTEN.
DO them REALLY WELL.
And watch how HEALTH becomes much less stressful.
HEALTH is a blessing. A privilage.
It's NOT supposed to suck the life out of us and make us feel bad about ourselves. HEALTH is there to make us feel like our best human self!
