Wanna hear something scary, sad, frustrating and downright unreal???
I stepped into the fitness and health industry "back in the day", in the year 2001. At the time, there were three major factors/barriers contributing to people NOT sticking with a health routine and daily health practices:
- Time / Perceived lack of time
- Cost
- Motivation / Knowledge

Let's fast-forward to today shall we... Nearly 23 years later, the top three major barriers are:
- Time / Perceived lack of time
- Sedentary lifestyle / Screen Time
- Motivation / Mental Health
Anyone else see this!?!!?
2/3 are the SAME BARRIERS FROM OVER TWO DECADES AGO!!!!
To me this says we need to approach our health DIFFERENTLY. We need CHANGE. We keep doing the same #$%^ over and over, thinking that each time we come back to it "it'll work this time". No!!! Two decades of information, including the most common perceived barriers, are showing us It's NOT WORKING!
What does work??
****Basics*****
-STOP overlooking the foundational practices that allow us to be our healthiest and happiest selves.
-STOP pushing aside the simplistic practices, because "it must be harder than that".
-STOP stressing ourselves out by FORCING ourselves to do things we DON'T WANT TO DO, despite an abundance of ways for us to be healthy, happy humans.
-STOP trying to rush NATURE. We have control of our ACTIONS. Take action. Nature will take care of the outcomes.
-START taking action. Rather than talking about it, thinking about it, reading every possible thing about motivation and self-help... Do something. Something small. Something simple.
- START being proud of the things you ARE doing, rather than all the things you are NOT doing.
- START listening to your own body, mind and soul and offer it what it wants to feel better, rather than listening to everyone and everything else.
- START finding things that you ENJOY doing and do them OFTEN. This is one of the easiest and most consistent ways to incorporate health practices into your day.
