Do the Opposite

Here's the norm in 2025 modern lifestyle...


  • Constantly on the go. Every free moment of the week is scheduled with something (good or bad).

  • Stress is high, with little to no means or practice of managing it.

  • Sleep quality and/or quantity is poor.

  • We "can't figure out" why we have no energy, brain fog etc

  • We complain we aren't feeling how we want or aren't getting to "wherever we want to be" in health/life.


And then...


We ADD more to our plate. The cycle continues.


It's NOT complicated to stand out from the crowd today. It just takes concious action, consistently (which IS standing out from that crowd)

You KNOW WHAT to do


This is the argument for SLOWING DOWN - When we do so, we can ACTUALLY RECOGNIZE not only what we WANT, but also what we DON'T want! If we do this and take a moment to breathe and be REAL with ourselves in this way, the solution becomes VERY easy and APPARENT:


DO THE OPPOSITE of what you're doing.


This doesn't mean completely. Take NOTE of that. Do the OPPOSITE of one or two little things that are your current norm and it could make a WORLD of difference with not a ton of effort.

*Be aware though - This will require SLOWING DOWN to put this NEW practice into ACTION. That's ok though! That's what YOU WANT right?*


  • Say "NO" to a couple things this week and/or leave some FREE time in your week

  • Begin to discover and practice tools and strategies for regular stress management ("Coach D" can help with this!)

  • Begin to practice habits and strategies surrounding bed/wake times to positively impact your sleep (Hey! "Coach D" can help with that too!)

  • Stop talking about "all your problems/issues" and start ACTIVELY changing them in small bits


Every single thing here is just doing the OPPOSITE of what you currently do by default. That's it. There's very little thought energy required in doing that. You can even catch yourself; "Oh wait! I would normally stuff an appointment between these other two things on this day, but I'm NOT going to this week. I'm going to leave that open for ME!" That's honestly all it takes to start your NEW practice of OPPOSITE.


We can certainly go back to previous posts, discussing how in order to lead a healthy, active lifestyle we simply need to approach it OPPOSITE to what MOST people are doing. Incorporating more SLOW into our days/weeks is the same principle. Do the OPPOSITE of what you/most people typically would do, and open yourself to time and space for YOU and YOUR wellbeing.

Our health really DOES NOT need to be "rocket science". It needs to be taking ACTION and HONEST...


HONESTY (with ourselves): To set our ego aside and address what WE WANT and NEED while focusing on where we're at RIGHT NOW (not where we "think" we "should" be or where we "want" to be with our health/abilities).


Taking ACTION (for ourselves): To ACT instead of complain or talk about how we want to change. Acting on LEARNING more about ourselves and our wellbeing, so we can CREATE (not wait for) a lifestyle we WANT.
