"Coach D"
While my approach is human-centric, my methods are rooted in rigorous experience and science. My journey in guiding others in their health and wellbeing began back in 2001, while continuing to learn, evolve and grow personally and professionally.

The Foundations

-
CSEP-CPT | Certified Personal Trainer With the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. Over a quarter-century in this field has taught me one thing: physical activity is a vital pillar, but it is only one piece of a much larger puzzle. I ensure movement is safe, efficient, and part of a longevity-focused plan for my clients. I see exercise as a tool to help us live the way we want to live and do the things that we love/want to do.

-
PN-L1 | Precision Nutrition Coach. Specializing in nutrition coaching that focuses on skills, daily practices, and sustainability. My goal is to help clients move away from the "math" of restriction and toward a way of eating that fuels your life without becoming a burden.

-
PN-SSRC | Sleep, Stress Management & Recovery Coach.
This is the "hidden infrastructure" of my work. In our modern world, these systems are often the first to crumble. I am certified to help you optimize the recovery practices that allow your body and mind to actually perform. This is the cornerstone of long-term health and wellbeing.

The Human Element
When I’m not helping clients design their health blueprints, you’ll likely find me outside—where my own "blueprint" for happiness begins. Nature is my primary reset; I’m often wandering, hiking, fly fishing or running the trails near my home, or simply unwinding by a campfire.

Connection is a big part of my life, too. Shawna and I have two amazing daughters, Jade & Amber (our precious gems), and the most amazing grandson who constantly makes our hearts grow. Our family foundations continue to be deeply rooted in who we are together. I’ve been performing music locally with my Dad for over a decade, a practice that feeds my soul in so many ways. While my competitive sports days are behind me, I still play and stay involved, for the love of the game(s)—whether that’s coaching our club's division 1 women’s soccer team, stepping on to the field, hitting the ice, the tennis court, or the golf course with friends, it's not too often you don't find me without sports in my days/weeks.

If the weather keeps me inside, you’ll find me usually lost in a board game, or recharging with a good book, drawing, writing or a video game (retro games mostly).

Through all of life's ebbs and flows, I’ve made it a priority to remain a "big kid at heart", which comes from my Mom's side of the family, being that her maiden name is "Joy". To me, the ultimate goal of a well-designed life isn't perfection—it’s feeling happy, capable, doing things you enjoy and just plain feeling good as often as possible.
